Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day.  We'd talked to our friends Bryan & Angela a few days earlier about getting together for dinner, maybe cooking up some burgers (since I'm a part-time vegetarian and all).  Around 3 PM, when our boy woke up from his nap, we gave them a call to see if they wanted to maybe meet up at the park to get some fresh air.  As Julia was talking to Angela, I looked outside and it was suddenly a bit cloudy.

A quick check of the weather forecast said there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms, so we agreed to head over to their house to grill out there.

Then "the red" moved in - just as we were finishing the burgers, in the space of about 5 minutes, the wind picked up to near-tropical-storm-force-winds.  I seriously thought some of the trees in their backyard were going to snap.  The sky was boiling, and it had that funny green tint.

The burgers were delicious.

Here's Stani and Brad!  They got married on Anna Maria Island (near Bradenton Beach, Florida) at The Sandbar Restaurant!  The Sandbar's food is amazing, by the way.  Stani and Brad both graduated from UF, and now they are both at Harvard!  Very awesome couple. We loved meeting their family & friends (many who traved from Bulgaria!).  The day was so relaxed and fun.  Congrats, Stani and Brad!!!!!!

Here is their beautiful "First Sight" beach path.

Gator Chomp!  I think every member of the bridal party had gone to UF...  (except for the kids from Bulgaria, but it's only a matter of time.)

James King from Grant Hemond & Associates.  You should pick them.

Congrats, Stani and Brad!!!!!

I love seeing these two play together - mostly because they can be very serious about it. :) We are finally free of sickness in our house (basically it's felt like Tyson's been sick for the entire month of March - I think I've been more ready for him to be done with it than I've ever been for myself getting better -lol).  We've also had a ton of weddings and other shoots last month (and this month).  Super fun, but we'll definitely be taking some family time come May.

Our boy is really getting unbelievably fun.  Seriously - It's unreal.  This Summer will be a lot different from the last (and I thought the last was great).  He's just started in the last month or so (end of his 18th month or beginning of his 19th month) to attempt copying everything we say.  Before, he just had his comfortable vocabulary of 40 or so words.  It was impressive how many different senarios those words could be applied to!  (I think it's been like that since the very beginning.  A long time ago, the only animal he could say was "dog", so he would call anything that remotely resembled a dog - "dog" - lol.  But he really did know the name of those animals though because he'd point to the correct one when asked.  He just couldn't say the name yet!).  But now - anytime I talk, he'll pick out a word or two from what I said and say it.  I have a little parrot all day :).  He can also say two words together now.  His first pair was "big ball".  No surprise that it was related to balls!  Now, everything is big _____ (shoe, ladder, boat, etc).  I still don't totally expect any of you to understand him yet though if you come over.  It's an acquired skill :)!

(oh, and for those of you that have asked, we are/were in the process of redoing the playroom.  I think it's mostly figured it out for now!)

Still standing on everything....i just wish that didn't include things with wheels or coasters....

Gorgeous bride!

Incredibly fun gang!

Things have been pretty busy here with some gorgeous weddings!  Here's a tiny sneak peek!

Seconds before the reveal :).

Today is Tyson's birthday!!!  We've had a whole birthday weekend extravaganza because yesterday Tyson's mom hosted a party for him at her house.  She made an incredible dinner with all Tyson's favorites and we had lot of family and friends over (and on webcam!).

Our little guy was pretty into the whole birthday thing :).  Right after Tyson blew out the candles (pic below), our guy said "moe! moe!" (i.e. "more").  Grandpa then re-lit the candles so that he could get a chance to blow them out.

Here's the cake we brought to the party!  I told Tyson that I was sad the cake didn't say "Happy Birthday, Tyson" (isn't that a requirement or something?).  He said, "Oh, YES it does...It says it ALL over!" And...yes....Tyson basically decorated his own fish cake (I got all the supplies and was going to make it as a surprise for him - but I knew I'd want/need his help...). It was fun, though!  Also with the fish theme, he got several gifts related to fish or fishing and one of his presents was even wrapped by Cole in a parchment bag like a cooked fish!

(For those curious - chocolate cake from scratch (Lori's recipe), cream cheese frosting w/ blue food coloring and used a spatula for the scale look, melted Godiva cholocate chips that we shaped for the fins/tail, orange slices for eyes/lips, powdered sugar made into paste with water for the white part of the eye, M&Ms on body/eye/mouth, and kale for the seaweed!)

I LOVE YOU TYSON!!!  I love celebrating you in my life!!!  I hope you had a wonderful birthday weekend!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Here's Leslie Hooker and Mike Wayson!!  I've known both of them since high school.  Leslie is my good friend Lauren's younger sister and she was even on my swim team!  She graduated from FSU and currently works in Tampa.  Tyson and I got to know Mike at UF during a spring break skiing trip.  He's currently getting his doctorate at UF in Medical Physics.  We had a blast shooting them!!  We can't wait for their wedding!!

OK - now this is Tyson taking over the writing of this post.  If you are reading this and you live in Malaysia, you might want to read this before you go any further: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_–_Florida_State_football_rivalry.

To some of you who live in or are familiar with the state of Florida, the above picture may be confusing.  How can a Gator and a Seminole look so happy together?  Well, let's just say there was some major "Photoshop" work done to the above picture.  It took Julia several hours to merge two photos into the one you see above.

Once I convinced them that they should appear together in shots for their engagement photos, things got a little tense: Gator Chomp vs. Tomahawk Chop

Obviously, a clear winner.  I mean, what kind of college athletic team's hand gesture doesn't even have a dedicated Wikipedia page?  Please.

The Seminoles weren't too happy with this outcome, but they have learned to cope with disappointment (hmmm...is that too harsh?).  After I declared the winner of this non-contest, the opposing parties reluctantly agreed to put aside their differences for the sake of love.

However, try as they may, the reluctance continued until they later changed into less controversial outfits. As you can see in these next shots on a dirty, rotting, rat-infested couch, it is evident that Leslie is still a bit uncomfortable being embraced by a man in a Gator sweatshirt.

We had a ton of fun, and proved once and for all that our cameras are still able to focus on Seminoles... Who would have thought?  Enjoy the pics!

Congrats, Leslie and Mike on your engagement!!  Go Gators!!! ;)

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!
